Week 1: Trying out a New Dessert

In my first week of artist dates, I started out with a recipe for a dessert I had never made before but that I like ordering in restaurants: panna cotta with passion fruit.

I don’t think I had ever been to the grocery store before for the sole purpose of pleasing my inner artist (or inner child as I often call her). While at the store, I did buy some other stuff that was very much needed at home, but I still had a different energy compared to when I go for my regular, weekly shopping trip.

The recipe itself was pretty easy to follow. While preparing, I regularly checked in with how I felt in the here-and-now, and the mere act of doing so brought me back to the present moment. It helped me to enjoy what I was doing more as it immersed me in the actual process of cooking. 

Little Freia enjoyed playing around with the ingredients and my housemates were pleased with the results.
