Week 6: Baking a Rice Cake

Even though, for some, it might sound like a recap from the first week’s date, that didn’t bother me at all when starting this one. My husband and oldest son like rice cakes, and I often bring one home from the bakery for them. But I thought that a homemade one might taste even better!

I already had most of the ingredients at home, so I only needed to buy fresh dough from the grocery store. Vanilla needed to be cooked with the rice and milk, which made the house smell fantastic. After all the preparations were done, the cake had to be baked in the oven. My house didn’t only smell fantastic, it now smelled divine! And as I experienced before, the more senses involved in an artist date, the easier it is for me to stay in the moment.

Needless to say the baked cake didn’t last long, and I think I’ll go for a remake sooner rather than later.
